Master Hun in the NY Post
Sat., Jan. 28, '06, "Gym Dandies: How to put the fizz into physical activity for kids" by Jacqueline Burt Wang: ... It was a movie that got a Manhattan 12-year-old named Carlo in motion: the film The Last Samurai to be exact.
Carlo's interest in blade-swinging led him to Master Hun's Safe Samurai Swordplay, where kids (and adults) can learn the ancient Japanese art using foam-padded swords.
"I get a lot of kids who want to be Jedi knights in here," says Hyun Hwang, a.k.a. Master Hun.
Once in the door, aspiring Anakins get a taste of what it really means to wield a light saber, learning basic cuts and thrusts, footwork and sparring.
Carlo's mom says her son's lessons have not only been fun, but also have left him with respect for himself and his opponent.
Not only that, she says, "it's lots of good, plain cardio -- very focused exercise with flair and precision, in a cool setting." ...
